New Economics for Women (NEW)
Since 1984, NEW has made a commitment to help improve the quality of life for women and their families, to address the needs identified by poor working families and to develop the tools and resources families require for economic self-sufficiency. All programs are designed to help families set and meet their own individual goals. Programs include but are not limited to:
For My Future - Para Mi Futuro, a Family Development Network Project, designed to provide residents of the City of Los Angeles with access to a full array of human services that will help families and individuals move from poverty to economic self-sufficiency.
Smart Consumer Education teaches families, like yours, how to plan for your future. Learn how to prepare a budget, develop a savings plan and find out what you need to purchase your own home.
Affordable Housing NEW offers affordable housing with on-site case managers who work with residents to effectively utilize community resources and to develop a case plan with measurable economic and educational goals and objectives leading to stabilized employment, maintenance of a household budget and increased parenting skills.
Healthy Families is a low-cost health insurance program providing comprehensive care for children in working families.
Tobacco Education is a program that provides education and awareness to businesses and the community regarding the effects of tobacco usage.
Home Choice In a collaborative effort NEW connects individuals with disabilities to home loan counselors to find out what they need to purchase their own home.
