CARECEN
The Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) is a non-profit organization that serves the Central American community through legal services and advocacy, educational and civic participation programs. Since its founding in 1983 by a group of Salvadoran refugees fleeing the brutality of civil wars in Central America, CARECEN has served over 250,000 individuals. CARECEN is dedicated to the empowerment of Central Americans in Los Angeles; to the defense of their civil and human rights; and to building bridges between the United States and El Salvador.
CARECEN Family Development Network Services include:
- Information presentations or "Charlas" on immigration law
- Legal consultations on general immigration
- Assistance in preparing applications for families who qualify for permanent residency pursuant to the Nicaragua Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NACARA)
Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Saturdays: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
