El Centro Del Pueblo
Established in 1974, El Centro Del Pueblo is a community based organization with a long standing record of community service in the prevention of gang violence through prevention, intervention and education.
Incorporated as a non-profit entity under laws of the state of California, El Centro Del Pueblo's mission is to provide social services such as educational support, recreation activities and training in conflict resoulution to improve the quality of life of the diverse communities in the Los Angeles area.
Our current Youth Advocacy Program, under the Family Development Network, allows us to provide education, cultural awareness, counseling, conflict resoultion training and mentoring to gang involved youth. Enhancing self-esteem and social adjustment skills among youth as well as reducing negative activity are our primary goals. Referrals are obatined from local law enforcement agencies.
To receive our free services you must reside in the Westlake, Pico Union, or Central City communities.
Hours of Operation:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Wednesdays and Thursdays: 11:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
